Home » More Information » Research GOALS AND OBJECTIVESGoals of the IRDMore specifically, the Research Department aims: 1. To ensure quality of graduates in college and the basic education (Grade School and High School) including students in the Preschool through research initiatives; 2. To provide the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) member and affiliate schools with relevant and accurate data and data interpretation of academic and other institutionally related matters; 3. To advance institutional strategic purposes and advocacies; 4. To satisfy requirements of statutory bodies such as the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)and the Department of Education (DepEd); 5. To provide data needed by accrediting bodies such as the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), California, U.S.A.; 6. To coordinate institutional research initiatives and share relevant data with management, divisions and offices including external agencies as necessary and appropriate. OBJECTIVES of the IRD1. Create an academic atmosphere among SGEN students, faculty, officers and staff by providing ample opportunities for research activities; 2. Publish at least 10 research work in the KAIZEN Journal once a year; 3. Conduct at least one research forum within the academic year;
4. Align research initiatives with the institutional research advocacies. Research initiatives here may include various academic and operational concerns such as;
5. Publish an SGEN Research Journal of refereed research articles 6. Publish a College Assessment Handbook that highlights the College PASS and the college academic system. 7. Facilitate research-related activities such as posting in the Intranet prescribed thesis templates for researchers’ use. 8. Publish a Handbook on Writing a Thesis and make it available for students in the Stuff Shop.
