A Teacher’s Education for Busy Professionals

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

That is the never-ending question of our elders when we were young. How many of us would proudly exclaim the desire be a good teacher one day, just like our favorite teacher who we looked up to for their kindness, wisdom and ingenuity? To many of us, our teachers are our first heroes.

Although she had already carved a name for herself as a remarkable dancer and versatile actress, Miss Teresita Ssen "Winwyn" Marquez will never forget her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. She is now on her final semester in the Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) of Southville International School and Colleges, wherein she finished her Pre-, Grade and High School education as well.

“I had always looked up to my preschool teachers. I am grateful for their guidance in my early life. I want to be like them and be able to guide children to a right start like how they helped me.”

In a special correspondence, Winwyn shared how Southville’s TCP is helping her achieve her dream despite her busy schedule as an actress.

“I really want to finish my course and know the foundations of Education and how everything in teaching works. It was a big risk for me because of my work and other commitments, so I am truly grateful and happy that Southville has an Blended Learning System and Teacher Certificate Program where I can be at work and study at the same time. It made that aspect of my life a lot easier to manage.”

Southville International School and Colleges’ Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) provides students with a general training in education to prepare them for the Licensure Examination for Teachers through lectures, hands- on-applications, case studies and discussion of current developments, challenges and issues confronting the millennial learners.
