A Milestone of Care – SISC College of Nursing Celebrates its 10th

Ten years ago, 2007 SISC College held its first clinical and academic graduation ceremony at the Luxembourg Hall. All 90 candidates stood proud to be recognized as the pioneering batch of Southville’s College of Nursing, known by their chosen name Nightingales of St. Catherine.

College of Nursing’s Tour of Metro Museums: Looking at the Past, the Present and Opening Possibilities

For the second semester of AY 2016-2017, the planned BSN outdoor activity was a tour of three distinct museums in the vicinity of nearby Pasay City. Last February 8, 2017 the entire BSN student body ably accompanied by seven faculty members were off to a fun and out of the ordinary experience – a welcome break from the rigors of serious classroom work and clinical duties.

College of Nursing Champions of 2017 SISC Street Dance Competition

Staying afloat in a BSN program demands a considerable amount of physical, mental and emotional hardiness. Nursing students are generally hesitant to sign-up for extra-curricular activities since it usually entails setting aside extra time from their hectic academic work and clinical duties for meetings and practices. However, this academic year 10 brave and talented students from BSN II & BSN IV took on the challenge to represent the College of Nursing in this year’s Street Dance Competition.

A Worthwhile Experience – SISC BSN Students on a Nutrition Industry Visit

The BSN II nutrition class of Ms. Fides Adiviso had a first-hand, on site experience at Asian Hospital & Medical Center’s (AHMC) Nutrition Department last March 11, 2017. The activity started with a brief in depth lecture session where Ms. Czarina Andres, RND, Administrative Dietician, emphasized the important role of nurses in initiating the Nutrition Care Process starting with Nutrition screening, a JCIA standard, where all patients admitted are to be screened for nutritional risk.

Southville Faculty Recognized As Best Teachers in the South of Manila

March 17, 2017 - Southville International School and Colleges faculty members Teacher Elizabeth Sullano, Dr. Joanne Miranda, Dr. Aris Ignacio and Dr. Jerry Aguilar received the Consortium of the South’s (COTS) 2017 STAR Teacher Awards during ceremonies held at the Southville International School and Colleges Luxembourg Hall.

DOST Lauds Southville Mathelete

Southville International School and Colleges - In recognition of Gwyneth Margaux Tangog’s victory in an international mathematics competition held in 2016, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) conferred on her the Youth Excellence in Science (YES) Award last March 13, 2017 at the DOST IV-A Science & Technology Complex in Los Baños, Laguna.
