Southville Math Whiz Reaps Awards in Vietnam

Southville International School and Colleges Grade 8 student, Gwyneth Margaux Tangog, brought home medals from the 15th Hanoi Math Olympiad Competition held last March 26-30, 2018 in the capital city of Vietnam. Tangog earned a gold medal in the team competition together with four more Gr. 8 students from the Philippines by finishing in first place followed by Vietnam and then China. She also added a bronze medal in the individual contest, competing at the Junior level.

Southville Holds Model United Nations 2018

Southville International School and Colleges welcomes delegates to the Model United Nations Conference 2018 on April 7 and 8,2018. The conference provides an opportunity for students to get to learn about international politics and diplomacy. The conference helps the students to enhance their public speaking, debate, and leadership skills. It is an event that lets the students connect and collaborate with other people while learning about relevant global issues.

Southville earns praise from visiting WASC team

Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) was visited by a team of six international educators last March 11 - 15, 2018 as part of the re-accreditation process for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, (WASC) U.S.A. WASC is one of the six regional accrediting associations in the United States that assure the delivery of quality education. The members of the team are all trained in the process of assessing schools, and they spent the week exploring every aspect of school life at SISC.

Creative Professionals Review Student Art for Exhibit

MARCH 2, 2018— in preparation for their external exhibit, the fourth-year students of Multimedia Arts presented their proposed artworks to a panel of creative practitioners at the Lecture Room of the Media Center. The exhibit’s theme, human trafficking, required the students to express their awareness on the issue through various media. The presentation included photos, illustrations, video productions, and sculptures.

Another Opportunity for Faculty Enhancement: The Latest on Wound Care Management

March 12-13, 2018 - a 2-day seminar, held at the Air Force Museum Function Room, Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base Pasay City, served as the arena for learning the latest advancements and management on wound care. The WoundPedia Wound Care Basics team composed of: Hiske Smart, RN MSN, Elizabeth A. Ayello, PhD, RN, ACNS BC, CWON, ETN, MAPWCA, FAAN, Barbara Braden, PhD, RN, FAAN, and Greg Schultz, PhD. had as their main goal to inform healthcare professionals on how wound care should be contextualized within varied areas of complexity.

BSN Students’ Continued Pursuit for Excellence in Research

Two BSN student researches were once more accepted for presentation in the 11th MDCON Research Congress held last February 23, 2018. The research studies were: Social Media In Filpino Young Adults and their Social Ability by Tamam Abu Rayyan, Jacqui Louise Canlas, Margie Ossi, Rouie Jean Sindac, Lois Songcuan (BSN Class 2018). The Degree of Nicotine Dependence, Autonomous Motivation and Perceived Competence among Smokers in Selected Urban Setting by Kacey Cuntapay, Katrina Francesca Dauden, Danielle Diño, Carl Ivan Reyes-Soriano, Laurice Anne Sobong (BSN Class 2018).
