Southville Deans Share Their Expertise in Guam




The College Deans and the Vice President of Academic and Research of Southville International School and Colleges were invited by the Hon. Joe San Agustin, Senator of the 34th Guam Legislature and Chair of Committee on Education, Finance and Taxation to share their knowledge and expertise in education through school visits and a research paper presentation at the University of Guam.

Dean of Psychology, Dr. Ruel Cajili, presented his paper entitled Effect of Cognitive Behavior Therapy on the Level of Maladjusted Behavior Among Female Children- in-Conflict-with- the-Law (CICL); Dean of Education and Arts & Sciences, Dr. Gina Caneo presented her paper entitled Teaching Styles, Educational Philosophy and Brain Hemisphericity of Nationally Awarded Higher Education Faculty in the Philippines; Dean of Business, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Dr. Vic Manabat presented his paper entitled The Anatomy of the Poor : A Model of Poverty from the Perception of Poor Residents in Laguna, Philippines; Dean of Communication and Multimedia Arts Dr. Felma Tria presented her paper entitled Media’s Influence on the Filipino Youth in Relation to Social Issues and Initiatives; and Southville Vice President of Academic and Research Dr. Marjorie Tangog presented her paper entitled Determinants of Institutional Goals Achievement Among Educational Institutions in the Philippines.

The Southville Delegation was presented the Certificate of Appreciation by Sen. Joe San Agustin for their imparting their invaluable expertise in the field of education and research. The delegation also met with Hon. Dennis Rodriguez Jr., the only Filipino Senator in Guam, Former Senator Judith Won Pat, and Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio.

As a research-oriented community, Southville International School and Colleges values scientific inquiry and knowledge advancement. Thus, Southville designed the PASS (Portfolio Assessment of Southville Students) Research program to provide students the opportunity to demonstrate the various competencies they acquired in the areas of writing, organization, investigation, experimentation, and analysis.
