Southville Media Arts Students Nab Twin Wins

AB Multimedia Arts students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) nabbed top prizes at the 26th Visual Arts Competition Photo Contest held at SM Southmall's Event Center last February 10, 2012.

Besting several students from different schools in the South, Roel Mathew Baban (AB-MMA 3) and Encar Sarah Lopez (AB-MMA 2) won 1st and 4th places respectively with their photos following the theme "Only in the Philippines.” Baban’s winning entry is a sliced green mango while Lopez’s is a calamares (fried squid). Both photos captured the simplicity and uniqueness of two of the most popular and best-loved Pinoy street foods.

The event, hosted by the Directories Philippines Corporation (DPC) and the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), aimed to teach how to create a photo with maximum impact and served as a venue to showcase the masterpieces of photography students.
