Dr. Marvin Jino Bugna

High School,

Class 2004-2005

"Southville trained me to become a responsible and disciplined person. It helped me become a good leader in many ways. It taught me the importance of helping others and studying hard in order to get good grades. Applying the 5C’s (Competence, Character, Collaboration, Creativity and Commitment to Achieve) and 5S’s (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) that Southville taught me was a great help that made a big impact and difference in my life in becoming a doctor." read more>>

Tanno Set to Compete in Hong Kong Math Tilt

While most students are spending their summer vacation in popular destination spots here and abroad, the 2011 Grade School Valedictorian of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) was busy training in an intensive math program. And it paid off well for him, having been chosen by the Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG) Philippines as an official participant for next academic year’s lineup of international math contests.

Gen Mark Tanno, now an incoming High School I student, is set to compete in the Po Leung Kuk Primary Math World Contest to be held in Hong Kong on July 13-17, 2011. He will join fifteen other delegates from different schools in the country, who all performed exceptionally in the Young Mathematicians' In-house Intensive Training Program (YMIITP) and Mathematical Olympiad Summer Training Program (MOSTP) held from March to May of this year.

This year, MTG Philippines will join at least eleven math contests abroad in Singapore, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Nepal and India.
