INTRODUCTION
Education does not end outside the traditional curriculum and classroom walls at Southville. We value each and every student as an individual and provide a diverse set of opportunities to imbibe the culture of life-long learning.There are several specialized programs available to Southville students and students part of the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN).
Alternative Education
The INNOVE program provides an educational approach that is customized, student-centered and innovative in nature. It addresses the different educational needs of each individual student as a separate individual and is ideal for students that best learn in a non-traditional teaching environment.
Investing and Entrepreneurship
Aiming to produce the leaders of tomorrow – Southville has dedicated centers promoting investing and entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship center provides support setting up new businesses, creating business plans and developing entrepreneurial abilities. The Capital market center provides lifelong lessons in investing in the local Bond and Stock markets, as well supporting new entrepreneurs with capital.
Scholastics
Developing articulate and well-versed students is of critical importance in the world of today. Scholastics, one of the leading book publishers has partnered with Southville to provide the Scholastics reading center which supports students by determining their lexile (reading) level with a state of the art adaptive testing tool, and providing the appropriate learning materials and support to enhance English studies during regular class times.
ABACUS
Research has shown that students who excel in math have high levels of mental discipline, concentration, and abstraction. The ABACUS arithmetic program teaches mental math using alternative teaching methods and the native Chinese abacus.
Technology
There are increasing demands placed on students in the information age. Southville has partnered with Microsoft and Amadeus, both fortune 500 companies to provide cutting edge technology resources for students. Students have access to licensed software, e-learning, classroom training and certifications.
