What kind of international school affiliation, accreditation or linkages does Southville have?

  • Southville International School and Colleges is internationally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), USA. Apart from being W.A.S.C. accredited, Southville also received ISO 9001-2008 Certification.

Recently, Southville launched the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award. It is an international award which aims to build self-esteem and promote character development within every participant aged 14 to 24.


What qualifications do the teachers have?

  • All our teachers attended the workshops organized by the IB Organization to ensure that they are familiar with the basic philosophy, curricular model, and the programme’s standards and practices. Some of them are already certified examiners of IB. Some have gained their teaching experience from other international schools.


Can any student enroll in an IB programme?

  • Only students enrolled in an IB World School may participate in an IB programme. The Diploma Programme is designed for motivated students who hope to attend university; enrollment in the programme is at the discretion of the school.


Is the Diploma Programme curriculum the same all over the world?

  • The core requirements are the same but there is room for flexibility. The courses offered by one school may differ somewhat from those of another school.


How successful are IB students in applying to university?

  • Recipients of the IB diploma enjoy a high rate of acceptance at leading universities. In addition, some universities offer scholarships to IB graduates.
    Can I take individual Diploma Programme courses?
    Yes, but you will receive the IB diploma only if you fulfill all the requirements of the Diploma Programme. Students who enroll in individual courses will receive an IB certificate noting the courses they took and the marks they earned.


How many examinations do Diploma Programme students take, and when do they take them?

  • Diploma Programme students generally take six examinations, including one literature course taught in the student’s native language, one foreign language, one social science, one experimental science, one mathematics and one arts course. The arts course can be replaced by a second social science, a second experimental science, or a third language. Students take their examinations at the end of the two-year Diploma Programme; sometimes they take up to two of their examinations at the end of the first year of the Diploma Programme.


Are transferees accepted?

  • Southville accepts transferees all year round depending on the assessment from the Registration department. For inquiries about transferring, send an e-mail with all relevant details (academic records, date of arrival, etc.).


 How much are the fees this year?

  • The fees for the upcoming school year are available by contacting the PR department stating your full name and the year or course that you wish to enroll in.


 Are there payment schemes available?

  • There are several payment schemes available: one-time payment, semi-annually, quarterly and monthly.


 What modes of payment are available?

  • Southville accepts cheque, cash, bank deposits, and all major credit cards.


Does the school organize any trips?

  • Yes. The school organizes international study trips for IB students every year. In the past years, the students have been to Singapore and Cambodia.


Is there a student dormitory?

  • Yes. Trex Global Residences is a school managed dormitory that is equipped with a swimming pool and is less than a 5 minute walk from the campus.
