Dr. Marvin Jino Bugna

High School,

Class 2004-2005

"Southville trained me to become a responsible and disciplined person. It helped me become a good leader in many ways. It taught me the importance of helping others and studying hard in order to get good grades. Applying the 5C’s (Competence, Character, Collaboration, Creativity and Commitment to Achieve) and 5S’s (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) that Southville taught me was a great help that made a big impact and difference in my life in becoming a doctor." read more>>

Beginning the Academic Year: The Nursing Way

Highlighting the College of Nursing’s Related Learning Experience (RLE) Orientation week and opening of classes was an important and informative session with guest lecturer Mr Nico Annonuevo, Head of Infection Control at Asian Hospital and Medical Center. His topic on Preventing Hospital Acquired Infections by Observing the 5 Moments in Handwashing is a program propagated by the World Health Organization, while his lecture on HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign was made more vivid by showing a short film “Pasa”, a creative output by Ernest Gatpandan III under the mentorship of the internationally renowned Filipino film director Brillante Mendoza.
Both sessions improved the awareness of nursing students on their vital role in preventing infection by consistently practicing good handwashing techniques, and playing an active role as educators in promoting health through information dissemination.
