Southville Young Karateras Bring Home Gold and Silver Medals

The young karateras of Southville International School and Colleges brought home Gold and Silver medals from the 2017 All Kumite President's Cup Karate Tournament organized by the Philippine Union of Karate Kobudo Organizations (PUKKO) at Sta.Rosa Educational Institute (SREI), Laguna last October 14, 2017.

Gianna O. de Mesa of Grade 2-Graham Bell won the Gold medal and Ingrid Concepcion of Grade 3 - Wisdom won the Silver medal for Karate Sparring, Girls 7-8 years old category.

“More than bringing home the medals, the most meaningful experience for the team is being able to apply self-discipline and responsibility before, during and after the competition. That to me is something coaches would like to inculcate to the students,” said Black belt Sensei Leo de Mesa, Southville’s resident Karatedo Master and the adviser of the club.

Sensei Leo holds Karate Classes open to Non Southville Students through the school’s Worthwhile Weekend Programs. For details, contact Karen at 825-2358 loc. 328 or email pr@southville.edu.ph.
