SGEN represents Phils in Dubai MUN



Seven high school students from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) and Stonyhurst Southville International School (SSIS), members of Southville Global Education Network (SGEN), represented the Philippines in the recently held Dubai, UAE, Model United Nations (MUN) participated in by more than 800 delegates from 30 countries around the world.  SGEN delegates Karren Delgado, Sean Chiong Ajihil, Clarice Meneses, Nadine Sheik, Bora Sin, Ysabela Gabrielle Marasigan, and Neil Aldrin Paul Caraos stepped into the role of a political figure, discussed and debated current global issues, worked together to draft bills and resolutions, and experienced formulating policies with their peers from around the world.
With the theme Education for the 21st Century, the discussion focused on looking at global world problems from the perspective of education. Furthermore, the event recognized education as the central tool through which the world can achieve a sustainable 21st Century.
“The meet seeks to provide an unparalleled educational experience for talented secondary school students as they learn about the United Nations, international institutions, and the democratic political process through an exciting role-playing experience, and I am proud that our students were able to express themselves and share their thoughts during the whole event,” said Ms. Gladys Mintu, MUN Director, and also the Deputy Principal of Munich Campus.
