Tanno Conquers American Regions Math League

Academic Year 2012-2013 has barely started and Gen Mark Tanno, HS sophomore of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), has already scored another victory in an international math tilt.

Tanno received a medal for being the top scorer of one of the Philippine teams which competed in the 2012 American Regions Math League (ARML) held at the University of Nevada last June 1 and 2. The members of the RP math teams also received merit medals and certificates for placing 5th and 6th respectively in the International Onsite Division of ARML. China ranked 1st, followed by Macau, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

The ARML is an annual high school mathematics team competition held simultaneously at four locations in the United States. ARML problems cover a wide variety of mathematical topics including algebra, geometry, number theory, combinatorics, probability, and inequalities.
