"Southville’s Poor Urban Child (POUCH) was a program that made an impact in my life. As a future nurse, caring is part of the values that we must uphold in our lives. Through POUCH, I was able to learn early the importance of caring for other individuals through serving and sharing with the beneficiaries of POUCH what they are not privileged to have." read more>>

Southville Inspires Budding Poets

“Poetry, beauty, romance, love – these are what we stay alive for.”
  - John Keating, Dead Poets Society

In Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), students are taught as early as preschool on how to express their emotions and feelings in a positive way – through poetry. Each poem is regarded as unique as the student who wrote it.

Recently, SISC launched Poetry of Endearing Memories in Southville International School and Colleges (POEMS) for school year 2012-2013.  This is an institutional activity where Basic Education students are encouraged to put their thoughts and feelings into verses. The best ones are compiled for inclusion in the annual POEMS publication.
