Southville Golfers capture US Tournament title

Abegail Arevalo of Gr. 9 - Sincerity played some of her best golf in topping the 13-14 division of the 2012 US Kids Holiday Classic Golf Tournament held at the Fazio Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA last December 21 - 22, 2012. She posted rounds of 80 and 74 in tough windy conditions to end the year on a winning note against competition of the highest level. Abegail began the final day with a one-stroke advantage but was never in trouble as she hit four birdies for a stunning twelve-stroke victory over her nearest rivals from the United Kingdom and the United States.
On the other hand, Chanelle S. Avaricio of Gr. 10 – Leadership won the recently concluded PARS 17th Florida International Junior Golf Tournament (Girls 15-18 Division), a 3 day event at the Dye Course of the PGA Golf Club, Port St . Lucie, Florida last December 28-30, 2012. She won against a good field of 25 players from12 countries. The champion was secured by playoff against Germany. She also won 3rd place on the 6th Annual San Diego Junior Amateur at Sycuan Resort Oak Glenn, CA last January 3-5, 2013 against 34 players.
