"Southville trained me to become a responsible and disciplined person. It helped me become a good leader in many ways. It taught me the importance of helping others and studying hard in order to get good grades. Applying the 5C’s (Competence, Character, Collaboration, Creativity and Commitment to Achieve) and 5S’s (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) that Southville taught me was a great help that made a big impact and difference in my life in becoming a doctor." read more>>

Multimedia Student’s Photo is Finalist for PLDT Directory Cover

Following her win from the 26th Visual Arts Competition Photo Contest held at SM Southmall, Encar Sarah Lopez was hailed as one of the fifty finalists in the national photography competition of DPC-PLDT. Lopez is currently a sophomore Multimedia Arts student at Southville International School and Colleges (SISC).

With the theme “Only in the Philippines,” thousands of photos were submitted in an attempt to land on the coveted cover of PLDT directories. This year’s search focused on photography as a modern medium of art, and is aimed to showcase what are positive and unique in the Philippines.

Lopez’s photo is a creative shot of the staple crop mais (sweet corn), as sold by a street vendor. Not only did the image vividly convey the mouthwatering yellow kernels, but also the Filipinos’ love for style and beauty – even in food.

Online voting for entries will comprise 10% of the over-all score. To vote for Lopez’s entry, click on this link:

Winners will be awarded in an exhibit scheduled on March 2012.
