SISC Finishes as 2nd Runner-up in Stock X Challenge

Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) finished 2nd runner-up in StockXChallenge which started last December 1, 2010 and ended at the close of trading hours last February 28, 2011. The online stock trading tournament was organized by the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), First Metro Investment Corporation (FMIC), and the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEP).

The SISC Monarchs01 team composed of Marc Oñate (BS Tourism), Ma. Johora Galvez (BSBA Marketing), Lemuel Calmerin, Anna Czarinna Fernandez, and John Joshua Romero (BSBA Human Resource Management) were lauded during the closing ceremonies last March 11, 2011 at the Philippine Stock Exchange Plaza, Makati City. They bested 108 competing teams from various colleges and universities with a total portfolio value of 10,279,113.

Aside from the 2nd runner-up title, they also received a cash prize, cash balance for First Metro Securities Brokerage Corporation (FMSBC) online trading facility, and shares of Save and Learn equity fund.
