Southville Math Wizards Bagged Awards in ICAS-Math 2017

Southville International School and Colleges math wizards received awards in the 2017 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) – Mathematics conducted last August 2017 that drew over one million student entries from more than twenty countries.

Gwyneth Margaux Tangog of Grade 8 – Integrity was awarded the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Medal and a medal winner’s certificate as one of the top scorers in ICAS-Math 2017. Gwyneth also won the High Distinction Award for being in the top one percent of all the participants.

Other awardees are Ervin Joshua Bautista, Raven Breanna Maat, Antwone Ong, Miguel Dominico Alzona, Stefano Crispino De Castro, and Choi Sungmin who received the Distinction Award; Juan Alfonso Lobien, Vince Christian Santos, Yoon Hyungjin, Lee A Rin, Hong Seo Hyeon, Cha Jinwon, Paula Luigia Gonzales, Rueben Byron Maat, and Kwak Hyo Sang for the Credit Award; and Park Seohui, Park Se Ryung, Yoon Chang Min for Merit Award.

Conducted by Educational Assessment Australia of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, the skills-based assessments with a competition element evaluated the participants’ skills and knowledge in algebra, patterns, chance, data, measures, unit, number, arithmetic, space and, geometry.
