Las Piñas City, Metro Manila – Dr. Genevieve V. Ledesma-Laurel, founder and chief visionary officer of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) and Southville Global Network (SGEN, a network of 8 schools), has been awarded the prestigious Lasallian Achievement Award by the De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA). The award recognizes her exemplary contributions to transformative education and her outstanding legacy as a leader in the academic community.

The award was formally presented during the One La Salle Night of Excellence held on April 26, 2025, at De La Salle University’s Taft Campus, a celebration honoring distinguished Lasallian alumni who have made significant impacts in their fields.

A proud alumna of De La Salle University with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Dr. Ledesma-Laurel exemplifies Lasallian values of excellence, integrity, and social responsibility. Through her dynamic leadership, Southville International has emerged as a globally competitive institution known for academic and technological innovations, quality international education, and holistic student development encompassing values, grit, EQ, and well being.

In addition to this recent recognition, Dr. Ledesma-Laurel is the recipient of multiple accolades, including the Philippine Quality Award for Commitment to Quality Management, the Filipina Starpreneur Award, Ernst and Young Award, Outstanding Alumna Award from Silliman University and the  MVP Leader Award. These honors underscore her enduring commitment to quality education and services.

Dr. Ledesma-Laurel’s impact extends beyond institutional leadership. As a passionate advocate for accessible education, she initiated a Gain Southville Reading Program  to ensure that Grade 5 students who have zero reading comprehension can unlock the world of knowledge and skills. She also founded the Asian Association of School HRMD Practitioners, Inc. (AASHPI) which has about 250 actual colleges and universities as members. Additionally, she established the Adopt a Poor Urban Child Program, which provides underprivileged children with access to quality education and the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty.

With a steadfast dedication to shaping future-ready learners and promoting social equity, Dr. Ledesma-Laurel continues to inspire educators, students, and communities both in the Philippines and abroad.
