Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), through its College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education under the Teaching Certificate Program, successfully held a virtual orientation and educational webinar titled “Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET): Review Orientation and SDG 4 Webinar” on January 28, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The event featured Dr. Virginia O. Caneo, former Dean of Education at Southville, as the resource speaker. Drawing from her extensive experience in teacher training and licensure preparation, Dr. Caneo provided valuable insights on how aspiring educators can effectively prepare for the LET while aligning their professional goals with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
Participants were guided through the structure of the LET, review strategies, and the importance of integrating global education standards into local teaching practices. Dr. Caneo emphasized the role of teachers in shaping inclusive, equitable, and high-quality learning environments, echoing the core values of SDG 4.
The webinar also served as a platform to introduce Southville’s Teaching Certificate Program, which supports professionals and graduates from other fields in transitioning into the education sector. Attendees included LET takers, education students, and professionals seeking licensure, all of whom expressed appreciation for the clarity and encouragement offered during the session.
Southville continues to champion excellence in teacher education, combining rigorous academic preparation with a commitment to global citizenship and lifelong learning.
