Southville BS Psychology Graduates Conquer the Psychometrician Licensure Exams

September 9, 2016 – Seven graduates of the BS Psychology Class 2016 of Southville International School and Colleges passed the recent August 2016 Psychometrician Licensure Examination as per the official results release by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Board of Psychology (BoP).

IC Bersaba, Angelica Bonuan, Regine Flores, Elaine La Cuesta, Khrizia Parco, Kerry Requierro, Mary Jhossan Sonico of Class 2016 are now certified Psychometricians who will surely make a difference in the society.

Regine Flores, who graduated as Cum Laude, shared that reviewing for the board exam should not be a burden but a stepping stone in reaching a greater dream.

“I don’t force myself to study when I feel like I don’t want to. I schedule my review mostly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with a lot of breaks in between. Reviewing every day would burn me out; make me very lazy and discouraged. I don’t want the thought of reviewing as “responsibility” on my head. I want to review because I want to be a Psychometrician today and be a doctor someday,” shared Regine.

To help her fellow aspiring psychometricians pass the rigid Psychometrician Licensure Examination, Regine shared her dos and don’ts in reviewing.

• DO: Schedule your review. If you are easily burned out like me, review every other day like Monday-Wednesday-Fridays.

• DON’T: Think of the review of board exams as responsibility to other people. Do it for yourself and your dreams.

• DO: Know your learning style. As an audio-visual learner, I write the important points on yellow pad then memorize them aloud for better retention.

• DO: Surround yourself with visual aids. I drew charts and tables on manila paper and stick them to my walls so even if I’m doing something else, I’m reviewing at the same time.

• DON’T: Study on an empty stomach. Always make sure that you eat a full meal for breakfast so you are fueled for the whole day. Also, drink lots of water because your brain will feel tired and saturated. Snack healthy.

• DON’T: Force yourself to study when you don’t feel like to. Avoid getting the thought of reviewing as a “responsibility” as it will only make you lazy.

• DO: Take rests in between reviews to relax and recharge your brain.

• DO: Try studying early in the morning, around 4:00am or 5:00am. I had read that studying in the wee hours of the morning is more productive than studying around midnight, because our memory tends to have a faster retention during those times.
