Empowered for Global Leadership: Gerandezza Singzon-Gutierrez’s Southville MBA Journey

In today’s fast-paced business world, success comes to those who continuously grow, adapt, and lead with purpose. For Gerandezza Singzon-Gutierrez, Assistant Vice President and Wealth Relationship Manager at an international bank in the Philippines, pursuing a Master in Business Administration (MBA) at Southville International School and Colleges became a life-changing decision that shaped her into a stronger and more confident leader, ready to take on challenges beyond the boardroom.

Gerandezza describes her journey at Southville as both transformative and empowering. “Southville has impacted my life in many ways, personally, professionally, and intellectually,” she shares. “It challenged me to go beyond my comfort zone and become more resilient. I was able to develop specialized knowledge by thinking critically and independently.”

Through Southville’s globally recognized MBA program, she found not only academic excellence but also a community that nurtures leadership, innovation, and character. The program’s balance of theory and practical application helped her develop a strategic mindset essential for managing wealth and guiding clients in the competitive financial industry. More than that, Southville’s international standards and mentorship culture opened doors for her to connect with professionals, business communities, and global opportunities.

Her Southville journey did not end with her MBA degree. Inspired by her academic experience, Gerandezza continues to pursue her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), proving that learning is a lifelong pursuit. “It has shaped my identity not just as a learner, but also as someone capable of making meaningful contributions to society,” she says.

When asked about her most memorable experience as a Southville student, she proudly recalls defending her thesis, a milestone that tested her hard work, discipline, and determination. That achievement led to her recognition as Best Thesis and Bene Meritus Award recipient during graduation. “It was a moment of pride not just for me but for my family as well, knowing the sacrifices and effort it took to reach that milestone,” she adds.

Among Southville’s 5Cs of Success—Character, Competence, Collaboration, Creativity, and Commitment to Achieve—Gerandezza highlights Commitment to Achieve as the one that left the biggest mark on her life. “Southville taught me the value of goal setting and working hard to achieve them no matter the challenges. This mindset has taught me discipline, perseverance, and resilience, which continue to guide me not only in my academics but also in my personal and professional life.”

To aspiring Southville students, Gerandezza shares words of encouragement:
“It all starts with a single step. Challenges are part of your journey, but they are also signs that you’re trying, learning, and growing. Keep your vision clear and your passion alive. Believe in yourself and never stop striving. Southville has dedicated educators who will guide you every step of the way. Finish your program with Southville, and you will be on track to success.”

Her story serves as proof that Southville International School and Colleges’ Master in Business Administration program develops not just managers but transformative leaders who possess the skills, confidence, and global mindset to make a difference in their chosen fields.
