“At Southville, we believe education is a driver of nation-building. Hosting and organizing the 2025 CMITAP reaffirmed our commitment to empowering educators who shape future investors and economic stewards.” — Dr. Jocelyn P. Tizon, President, Southville International School and Colleges
The 18th Capital Market Investment Teaching Accreditation Program (CMITAP), hosted by Southville International School and Colleges in partnership with the Capital Market Institute of the Philippines (CMIP), offered more than an accreditation certificate—it delivered a paradigm shift. Over five intensive days, educators from all over the country immersed themselves in high-impact sessions designed to transform classrooms into hubs of financial literacy and investment thinking.
As a founding member of CMIP, Southville leads the way in integrating capital market education into academic curricula. Its School of Business not only trains external educators during CMITAP but also embeds the same frameworks into its own degree programs—ensuring that Southville students graduate with practical investment knowledge, market fluency, and financial confidence.
The program was led by a distinguished lineup of facilitators, blending academic rigor with industry expertise. Southville’s Business faculty—headed by Dean Dr. Vic Manabat and composed of Sir Rey Nograles, Horatio “Tats” Nuyda, Aris Lacuna, Jason Bugatan, Marvin Revilla, and Emmanuel Subrano—were joined by CMIP officers and capital market thought leaders. These included Miss Rienzie Biolena of Wealth Arki Consultancy, Dr. Leo Quinitio of CHED, and Dr. Edwin Valeroso of First Metro Asset (FAMI), who delivered masterclasses on stock trading, investor behavior, regulatory frameworks, and more. Together, they provided participants with a powerful immersion in financial literacy and market dynamics.
This year’s CMITAP recognized the 2025 batch of CMITAP graduates for their excellence and dedication. Mr. Mark Edzon Bello of Notre Dame of Marbel University emerged as the Top 1 awardee, earning the designation “With Highest Distinction.” Mr. Nasser Acuram of Silliman University placed second “With High Distinction,” followed by Mr. Marlon Montaño of University of Mindanao Peñaplata College in third place “With Distinction.” Mr. Bello, alongside Ms. Chimes Carie Carreon—also from Notre Dame—won the first-ever CMITAP Stock Trading Challenge, showcasing sharp market instincts and collaborative strategy.
CMITAP Program leads Ms. Abbie Vallente, Head of Secretariat, and Prof. Rey Nograles (CMIP Chairman), supported by a highly efficient technical team, ensured seamless delivery, allowing participants to focus fully on engaging, learning, and building community.
With CMITAP embedded into its institutional DNA, Southville continues to shape the future of financial literacy and investment education—training both educators and students alike to become changemakers in the country’s economic landscape.
