Southville International School and Colleges proudly congratulates its Business students, Bradley Angelo S. Omillo, Kyle Bernard Q. Lobaton, Dianne Camille S. Serdena, and Sandara A. Canangga,  for being recognized as one of the Top 8 Semi-Finalists in the Service Category of the 2025 PCCI Business Idea and Development Award (BIDA), a nationwide search for the best business plan, with the theme “Bridging Eras: Innovating the Past, Transforming the Future.”

Guided by their mentor, Prof. Jose Nestor S. Guevara II, the team demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation through their business concept J-Talk (Juana Talk): Where Filipino Care Meets Modern Connection – a social enterprise designed to combat loneliness among the elderly by connecting them with compassionate “Talkmates” for engaging conversations and companionship.

Their project not only champions Filipino values of pakikipagkapwa and pagrespeto sa nakatatanda, but also reflects Southville’s 5Cs: the character to serve others with empathy, the commitment to achieve excellence under pressure, the competence to apply sound business principles, the collaboration that powered their teamwork, and the creativity and innovation that made their idea stand out nationwide.

Through their journey, the team embodied true grit, growth mindset, and resilience.  They faced challenges with optimism and perseverance, learning from every step, and constantly improving their ideas with purpose and passion.

This recognition affirms Southville’s enduring mission to mold  who globally competitive and socially responsible entrepreneurscreate impact beyond profit. The J-Talk team’s success is a shining example of how Southville students lead with intellect, heart, and determination, transforming ideas into movements that uplift communities and inspire change.
