Las Piñas City, Philippines — Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) has officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement with First Gen Corporation (FGEN), the country’s leading producer of clean and renewable energy, marking a significant milestone in Southville’s transition into a Green Campus as it moves into 2026. The partnership enables Southville to source geothermal renewable energy, aligning the institution’s energy practices with its long-term commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and responsible resource management.

The shift to geothermal renewable energy forms part of Southville’s broader Green Campus initiative, which seeks to embed environmental responsibility into campus operations and institutional decision-making. As the school continues to grow, the transition reflects Southville’s proactive response to climate change while ensuring that its resources are managed prudently in support of its educational mission.

Through the partnership, Southville will benefit from cleaner and more reliable energy to support uninterrupted academic operations, research activities, and campus services, while significantly reducing its environmental impact. At the same time, the move allows the institution to manage its resources more strategically, enabling greater focus and investment in programs, facilities, and initiatives that directly enhance student learning and development.

The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by senior leaders of both institutions. Representing Southville International School and Colleges were Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Laurel, Founder and Chief Executive Mentor; Mr. Rex Wallen L. Tan, Chief Technology Officer; and Dr. Jocelyn P. Tizon, President. Signing on behalf of First Gen Energy Solutions, Inc. were Carlos Lorenzo L. Vega, President and Chief Operating Officer, and Maychelle “Maych” Soriano, Customer Progress Partner.

First Gen was selected as Southville’s energy partner for its leadership in clean and renewable energy, strong commitment to sustainability, and shared vision of integrating education with environmental stewardship. The collaboration supports Southville’s goal of becoming a fully realized Green Campus while ensuring that institutional growth remains environmentally responsible and academically focused.

The signing coincides with Southville’s 35th founding anniversary and its continued recognition in international academic rankings, underscoring the institution’s sustained commitment to academic excellence alongside environmental leadership.

Beyond SISC, the Green Campus initiative signals a broader, network-wide effort within the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN). Member institutions—including Stonyhurst Southville International School – Batangas Campus, Stonyhurst Southville International School – Malarayat Campus, Southville International School Affiliated with Foreign Universities, South SEED-LPDH College, Asian SEED Academy of Technology, South Mansfield College, and Southville Monarchs International School—are also set to transition into Green Campuses, reinforcing sustainability as a shared institutional responsibility across the Southville community.
