Winning in the Work World (W3) Symposium: Preparing Graduates for Success

“The W3 program shaped not only my skills but also my confidence. It gave me the courage to face challenges head-on and the clarity to see opportunities where others see obstacles. Truly, it made me a Winner in the Work World.”

These were the inspiring words of Ms. Khryzelle Lorilla, a proud BS Psychology alumna, as she shared her testimony during the first Winning in the Work World (W3) Symposium held on January 16, 2026. Her experience highlighted the transformative impact of the W3 program in preparing students for life after graduation.

The symposium, attended enthusiastically by graduating students enrolled in the IC7 course, marked a significant milestone in Southville’s continuing commitment to equip learners with the skills, mindset, and confidence needed to thrive in professional environments.

The program opened with Dr. Ardee Donato, SGEN Academic Director, who delivered a clear and inspiring overview of the W3 initiative, emphasizing its purpose in bridging academic learning with workplace readiness. This was followed by Ms. Lorna Gamboa, SISFU W3 Moderator, who shared practical insights on how the program supports students in their internship journey and prepares them to adapt to real-world work settings.

Southville has also partnered with the W3 Organization to ensure that students are provided with structured guidance, practical training, and mentorship opportunities that strengthen their employability and professional growth. This collaboration underscores the institution’s dedication to producing graduates who are not only academically competent but also industry-ready.

Adding depth and inspiration to the event, Ms. Lorilla’s testimony underscored the program’s success in shaping graduates into resilient and capable professionals. Her story resonated with students, affirming that the W3 program is more than just preparation—it is empowerment.

One of the graduating students also shared their reflections:

“The W3 Symposium gave me a clearer picture of what lies ahead. Listening to alumni and mentors made me realize that success is not just about knowledge, but about adaptability, confidence, and values. I now feel more prepared to take on my internship and future career with purpose.”
