Southville Hosts Celebrity Book Talk with Filipino Historian Xiao Chua

The Southville College Library will hold its 4th Celebrity Book Talk with Filipino historian Michael Charleston “Xiao” B. Chua as the guest celebrity.  Mr. Chua will talk about “Books That Inform, Books That Inspire, Books That Entertain and Books That Persuade” on October 5, 2018.

The event aims to foster a reading culture through the active promotion of literature. This is in line with Southville’s commitment to spread the love for reading among its stakeholders especially its students.

SISC College Library’s IDEABOX Features the College of Nursing

Last September 7, 2018, the College Library’s IDEABOX project opened a new featured exhibit, this time by the freshmen students of the College of Nursing.  This bunch of energetic students worked and conceptualized on a theme that would encompass facets and elements depicting what the BSN program at Southville was all about. The result turned out to be creative pieces of artwork made by individual students put together with the theme: College of Nursing…where learning meets life. Nursing Education at Southville Brings Together Rigor and Fun thru IDEA Box

The Nursing Education at Southville provides a balance of strong academic rigor and fun. “We are very excited with the results of the Licensure exam. It posed for us another challenge to face. We have to step up our game in the delivery of the upcoming BSN outcomes-based curriculum, not losing sight of our core vision to develop graduates to be world-class nurses with a  compassionate heart for service,” shares Dean Carmel Villegas. The Southville Nursing Class of 2018 achieved a 100% passing rate while producing three topnotchers: Laurice Sobong, Katrina Dauden and Tamam Aburayyan.
