The Southville Global Education Network (SGEN), represented by Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) and Southville International School Affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU), recently joined higher education institutions, state universities and colleges, and industry leaders at the CHED RAISE 2026 National Summit held in Iloilo City, Philippines. The summit highlighted the theme “Responding through AI for Societal Empowerment,” a national initiative led by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to accelerate the integration of Artificial Intelligence across the Philippine academic landscape.
The event served as a major convergence point for academic institutions and industry pioneers working together to ensure that Philippine education remains globally competitive in the digital age. Southville expressed its strong support for the initiative and commended CHED Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis for her visionary leadership in advancing AI-driven transformation in education.
While many institutions are only beginning to explore Artificial Intelligence, Southville has long been at the forefront of innovation, having integrated AI into its educational ecosystem as early as 2009. This early adoption reflects the institution’s commitment to future-ready education and its dedication to preparing students for an increasingly digital world.
Reflecting on Southville’s participation in the initiative, SISC President Jocelyn Tizon emphasized the importance of aligning technological advancement with strong ethical foundations.
“At Southville, our mission is to empower the next generation of Movers of Society by providing them with the tools of the future while anchoring them in strong ethics,” Dr. Tizon said. “Our participation in the RAISE program reflects our commitment to innovation and academic excellence while ensuring that technology serves humanity in meaningful ways.”
