Acts-Manila @ Southville Bags Awards and Praises in Philippine Dance Cup



In partnership with Acts-Manila, Southville International School and Colleges ballet dancers competed in the Philippine Dance Cup national ballet, contemporary and street dance competition last July 29 to 31. ACTS-Manila @ Southville dancers won 5th place in the Junior Ensemble Division 8-9yo Classical category with a piece entitled Good Girl, and 5th place in the Senior Open Ensemble for Classical category with a piece entitled The Fight Song. Both were choreographed by Director Jan Manlapig.

Last May, Acts-Manila @ Southville dancers held its annual recital at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines wherein they were loudly applauded and praised for their five acts.

This August, two of the Acts-Manila @ Southville dancers, Gabrielle Antonia Gordove and Vera Sofia Mercado, will compete in the 2016 Asian Grand Prix international ballet competition at the Y Theatre in Hong Kong. And in 2017, select dancers will be taking the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet assessment exams under ballerina and author, Christine Walsh, A.M.

Acts-Manila @ Southville ballet lessons have been running since 2011 under the Directorship of Jan Manlapig. Enrolment is open the whole year round and non-Southville students are welcome to join the ballet program. For inquiries, you can reach Director Jan at 0939 9215452 or 0922 833 5856.
