AFSL Hosts Global Dignity Day



The Asian Federation of Student Leaders (AFSL) hosted the Philippine run of the Global Dignity Day Challenge 2014 last year at Southville International School and Colleges, city of Las Pinas.

Instituted during the World Economic Forum, Global Dignity Day is the brainchild of Young Global Leaders, HRH Crown Prince Hakkon of Norway, Prof. Pekka Himanen of Finland and thought leader, John Hope Bryant.
The Challenge was participated in by seventeen competing students and more than 200 plenary participants where three outstanding speakers were awarded:

1st Place – Ms. Alia Rafael Antig from Stonyhurst Southville International School (Lipa City campus);
2nd Place – Mr. John  Mark Galang from CAA National Highschool (Alternative Learning System);
3rd Place – Ms. Samantha Nicole L. Babao from Stonyhurst Southville International School (Batangas City).

This year’s Global Dignity Day was adjudicated by Dr. Mike Athab (Univesity of the Philippines –
Diliman), GDD inspirational speaker and founder of True Manila, Mr. Edwin Nombre and Department of
Education City of Las Pinas supervisor for Academic Program, Dr. Violeta Gonzales.
