College freshmen beat the heat at Southville

College freshmen and transferees flocked to Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) for a welcome party organized by the Office of Public Relations last May 22, 2015.

The program aptly titled “Beat the Heat” featured an energetic performance from the SISC Dance Troupe to welcome the new students. Daryl Papa from the College of Communication Arts infused more vitality in the activities with his dynamic hosting. The game, “Beach Ball”, enabled new students to get to know each other. They were asked to introduce themselves when they happened to be the last one holding the ball when the music stopped. The College Student Council facilitated enjoyable games that helped develop camaraderie and teamwork among students. The fun continued with the last two games namely “Maria and Jose Went to the Beach” and “Wet Wars.”

Beat the Heat ended with an awarding ceremony for Beat the Heat Stars, two talented and enthusiastic students who stood out throughout the event, as well as the winners of the Instagram selfie contest.
