F3: FILM, FASHION, AND FORUM

In celebration of Southville’s 25th Foundation, the Communication and Multimedia Arts programs held F3: Film, Fashion, and Forum held at the Event Center in Alabang Town Center last February 12, 2016 featuring two speakers from the film industry. The first was Artemio Abad, a Creative Director, discussed about his experiences in the film industry and the different kinds of success he experienced while pursuing his passion. Director Cathy Garcia-Molina, although not present, had a representative named Sharon Villaluz, a voice dubber. Ms. Villaluz explained what goes into voice dubbing in terms of various types of characters to types of projects like foreign shows that are aired in the Philippines.

The fun portion of F3 was the Fashion show, where students from different courses worked the runway in unique outfits. The themes they showcased were from well known musicals like Grease, Chicago, and Hairspray. For their second run, the students wore outfits inspired by Disney characters like Cinderella, Mulan, and Merida from Brave with a modern touch.

Topping off the event was the awarding in the 7-minute Film competition of students judged by a credible panel of judges. The winner not only received bragging rights, but also Php 10,000! Here are the winners of the film competition:

1st Place: Multimedia Arts Department
2nd Place: Nursing
3rd: Communication Arts Department

There was also a book launch for the Multimedia Arts students as a requirement for their Publications Class. The event was an amazing success and hopefully something that Southville would continue in the years to come.
