Hashtag Wins Southville Business Plan Competition

Emerging entrepreneurs Ethelbirth Ignacio III, Juan Miguel Antonio de Leon IV, and Dan Allen Lomeda, all Southville BS Entrepreneurship students hurdled first in the recently held Business Plan Competition sponsored by the College of Business and Tourism.
Their business, HASHTAG, allows clients to express their creativity and passion through designing their own shirts which the company will print using top of the line materials.

“It was superb experience listening to the students defending their business plans. This is empowering them and I am very hopeful that these youths will be able to apply what they have learned in the industry. This is what we prepare our students to become— Competitive Practitioners,” exclaimed Dr. Jerry Aguilar, Dean for Business and Tourism.

Apart from HASHTAG, two other business plans were recognized namely Premier Brokerage and Liaison Services of Mark Anthony Arnaiz and Coffee Lax of Clarice Sevilla and Aiko Plaza, awarded as 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively.

Apart from the Business Competition, the College of Business has several upcoming programs all geared towards developing the next Bill Gates and Henry Sy. The school is strongly working together with the members of Board of Advisers who are industry practitioners.

“We are collaborating with them for activities that will make students business-ready when they graduate. We believe that this will not only help them in the future but also our country’s economy.,” Dr. Aguilar added.
