With a very timely theme “Promoting Environmental Sustainability through the 5Cs”, the Basic Education Division of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) held its annual Parade of Nations last October 3, 2011.

The event kicked off with the colorful processional led by the students, each class representing a nation. They showcased national costumes, presented bits of information about the country, and performed impressive song and dance numbers as part of the cultural presentations.

Honorable Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon Jesus Paje was represented by Director Ramon Espeleta for the keynote speech. In his talk, he emphasized the important role of the youth in saving the environment and eventually combating climate change.

The event concluded with the recitation of an environmental sustainability pledge followed by the community singing of “Better World” by the students, faculty and staff..

SISC supports the global community in promoting environmental sustainability through instilling in its students the value of the 5Cs – Competence, Character, Collaboration, Creativity and Commitment to Achieve. As saving the environment is a lifetime commitment, SISC will remain steadfast in initiating and supporting advocacies which are geared to make Earth a better place to live
