Southvile karatekas bring home medals



The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Karate Team brought home a total of twenty eight medals (eleven gold, eleven silver, and six bronze) from the 2014 Zen Okinawan Karate Kobudo Tournament organized by the Philippine Union of Karate Kobudo Organizations.

The tournament pitted schools and gyms from the National Capital Region in Kumi (Sparring) and Kata (choreographed pattern of movements).

The medal winners are:
• Tim Alarcon – Gold (Staff Kumi) and Silver (Advanced Level Kata, Nunchaku Kata, Sai Kata)
• Sofia Aquino – Gold (Teko Kata & Nunchaku Kata), Silver Kumi) and Bronze (Intermediate Level Kata & Staff Kata)
• Jean Cabiles – Silver (Staff Kata)
• Star Caisip – Gold (Intermediate Level Kata)
• Arisa Hosokawa – Silver (Intermediate Level Kata)
• Han Sol Lim – Gold (Kata) and Silver (Sparring)
• Bora Sin – Gold (Kata) and Silver (Sparring)
• Arisa Hosokawa – Silver (Kata)
• JM Jaucian – Silver (Intermediate Level Kata)
• Han Sol Lim – Gold (Intermediate Level Kata)
• OJ Mirando – Silver (Staff Kata) and Bronze (Advanced Level Kata and Sai Kata)
• Yukimei Sakuma – Bronze (Novice Level Kata)
• Maika Someda – Silver (Staff Kata, Nunchaku Kata & College Level Kata)
• Gen Mark Tanno – Gold (Staff Kata, Advanced Level Kata, Teko Kata, Nunchaku Kata & Sai Kata)
• Tomoyuki Yamanaka – Gold (Staff Kumi) and Silver (Staff Kata)
