Southvile Monarchs Receive International Recognition

Two Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) students received high distinction certificates in the 2012 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) in Mathematics. Gen Mark Tanno (Grade 9) and Terrence Patrick Cabana (Grade 3) managed to be in the top 1percent of the said event.

Ms. Avic Suarez, SISC Principal, said, “Southville is very honored to have students who are excellent in Math, both from our Grade School and High School Department. This is a testament to Southville’s commitment to develop students who are competitive and committed to achieve.” Both Gen Mark and Terrence were awarded distinction in Math and high distinction in English, respectively.

The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) drew over one million student entries from over 6,300 schools from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, the United States, and the Philippines. The ICAS are independent skills-based assessments with a competition element conducted by the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
