Southville IT Majors Join National Workshop



The Junior Philippine Computer Society (JPCS_ recently held a Leadership Transformation Workshop and Elections (LTWE) at The Manila Ocean Park, Luneta, Manila. Representing the JPCS-SISC Chapter were Miguel Antonio Ventura (President), Kristine Lopez (VP for Internal Affairs), Diana Navarro (VP for External Affairs), Schenine Tan (Secretary), Joy Lingaya (4th Year Level Representative), and JPCS adviser Mr. Jun Mendoza along with the Dean of Information Technology, Ms. Lynne Abanil.

The seminar consisted of different lecture series regarding success stories of different fields of Information Technology and the possible careers in the IT industry. Among the seminar speakers were Mr. Leo Querubin, CEO of Media G8way Corporation and Ms. Cherry May Palacio, Vice President of IESTE Philippines. The speakers talked on what it takes to be successful in life and how the participants can improve themselves to be better leaders of today’s society, personal effectiveness, leading in a global context, and English and global competitiveness.

The three-day event was filled with group activities, insight sharing, plenary sessions and lessons that surely left a mark on the officers of each JPCS school chapter across the country. Not only was there leadership knowledge and skills imbibed in all the participants, but also new bonds and ties developed between and among leaders across the different school chapters. The whole event was a success and it helped in increasing awareness among student leaders and advisers.
