The 1st Alumni Cup of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) held last July 12, 2014 was a celebration of teamwork, camaraderie and oneness as alumni from way back 2004 to 2013 competed in basketball, football and volleyball.
“I felt like I was back home to where I honed the skills that I have today. With all the joy, hardship, and excitement, it was such a nostalgic feeling. Yes, I feel old but getting to play again in the same fields where I grew up as a player makes me feel good,” said Sungwon Hong of Class 2012, now a semi-professional athlete who had experience playing in the United Football League and De La Salle University.
The team of Joaquin Tenorio, Mamer Navarro, Brian De La Pena, Emmanuel Amado, Chippy Ilago, Mark Laxamana, and Marion Punzalan won first place in Basketball while the team of John Taylor, Gavin De Jesus, Franco Romualdez, Nico Bax, Yuta Oguro, Daniel Carlos, Peter Kim, Andrei Recana won in Football. Meanwhile, the team of Jaime Campaner, Katsu Sekijima, Dominic Brucal, Steven Masias, Jason Andico, Kenzor Dauigoy, Sean Ajihil, Hiro Matsuda, Jerry Suapengco, and Clarus Cortes topped the Volleyball competition.
The Alumni Cup is just one of the many activities that the Alumni Affairs is working on to maintain an enduring relationship between SISC Alumni and their alma mater through opportunities that promote interaction and engagement with the school.
