Southville U.S. Work & Travel Participants are “Employees of the Month”

With the school’s mission to prepare students to be globally competitive at an early age, 3 Southville college students were given the “Best Employee” title during their paid on-the-job training experience in various companies in the United States of America recently. These students are Jhem Allah – a Tourism senior who worked at Nags Beach in North Carolina, Priyanka Sogi, also a Tourism student who earned the recognition as well as she worked at the Houston Zoo in Hoston, Tezas; and Ron Laurel, an Entrepreneurship senior who worked at the Aquatics Department of Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin.
The U.S Work and Travel (U.S WAT) Program is a cultural exchange program of the U.S State Department that allows current full-time college students of any course, 18-25 years old and preferably in their second or third year level, to enter the United States and meet new people, learn about us culture while working in a private company during their summer break and at the end of their work experience, have the opportunity to travel in the us. In turn, in the true nature of a cultural exchange program, the participant will enrich the lives of other people by giving them the chance to learn about each other’s culture and country. At Southville, students who participated in the U.S Work and Travel Program get academic credits in their practicum subject.
