Southville wins in karate tournaments



The Southville Karate contingent brought home a total of twenty-eight medals (thirteen gold, seven silver and eight bronze) from two separate karatedo
tournaments held last month.

In the 1st Shito Ryu Shukokai Cup – Open Karate Kobudo Chanpionship organized by the Philippine Shito Ryu Shukokai under the Philippine Karatedo
Federation of the National Sports Administration, the Southville karatekas bagged the 2nd Overall Cup for Kobudo with a medal tally of 4 gold, 3 silver,
and 4 bronze. The medal winners are:

– Gold Medal Nunchakku
– Gold Medal Karate Kata
Tika Aliño – Silver Medal Karate Kata
– Silver Medal Karate Kumite
Timothy Alarcon – Silver Medal Nunchakku

Jason Andico – Bronze Medal Karate Kata
– Bronze Medal Karate Kumite
Mario Masias – Bronze Medal Karate Kata

The team upped its medal haul in the 1st Philippine Union of Karate Kobudo Organizations- NCR and Laguna Karate Kobudo Championship
held last November 25, 2012 by winning 9 gold,4 silver, and 4 bronze. The medal winners are:
