The Season of Giving -

The Season of Giving

They say that part of Christmas is about giving gifts and spreading joy. Last December, the Psychology and Tourism students together with the faculty of Southville International School and Colleges did just that with a gift-giving program for the children of CAA.

A few weeks before the event, the students were given a wishlist with the names of the children so they will have ample time to buy presents for their chosen kid. They had the chance to be Santa Claus for a day by giving the kids the presents that they desired. Hundreds of gifts were collected, and some Psychology and Tourism students had the honor of giving them in person to the children.

It was such a heartwarming sight to see the smile on the children’s faces when they got to open their presents, and to hear the sounds of joy when they got what they wanted. It makes one appreciate the spirit of giving even more when simple things like shoes or clothes can make a child cry tears of happiness. It goes to show that when a gift is given out of joy, the happiness one gets out of it is its own reward.

The Psychology and Tourism students and faculty members of Southville International School and Colleges were grateful to have the honor of putting a smile on children’s faces right before Christmas. This program has become a yearly tradition for the school. It shows generosity, love, kindness and appreciation to people who need it the most. Even the littlest things that are done out of love and kindness can cause a huge impact on people’s lives. Surely, it will continue in the following years to come.
