Southville Hosts Jessica Zafra Lecture

Southville becomes the first school in the Philippines to implement the TOEFL Junior Assessments



Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) is the first school in the Philippines to integrate the TOEFL® Junior tests in its curriculum. The TOEFL® test is the most widely respected academic English-language test in the world, recognized by more than 8,500 colleges, universities, and agencies in more than 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K., and the United States. Recently, the Educational Testing Service expanded the TOEFL® program to include younger learners aged 11+. Southville Dominates Asian International Schools Meet



The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Monarchs won the championship in girls volleyball, boys basketball, and girls football of the 2011 Asian International Schools Activities Conference (AISAC) held recently at the Global Jaya International School in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Monarchs bested teams from British International School, Global Jaya International School – Indonesia, St. Laurensia School – Jakarta, Madania Indonesian School, and Stonyhurst Southville International School – Lipa.

The SISC girls basketball team, on the other hand, finished first runner-up, while the boys volleyball and boys football varsity teams emerged second runner-up.

Southville Celebrates Araw ng Wika



Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Grade School Division joined the nation in its commemoration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa last August 19, 2011 for Grades 3-4, and August 22, 2011 for Grades 5-7.

With the theme “Ang Filipino ay Wikang Panlahat, Ilaw at Lakas sa Tuwid na Landas”, a lineup of activities was firmed up in recognition of Filipino as a common language that unites the nation.

Silent Reading Program Kicks Off



To strengthen the school’s reading program and to develop in our students, teacher, and all personnel the love for reading, Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) has institutionalized the Uninterrupted Sustained Silent Reading (U.S.S.R.). In this activity, everyone in school drops whatever he/she is doing and reads as soon as the U.S.S.R. bell rings. This is done twice a month at a specified day and time. To support the program, a reading nook and mini-library have been set up in every classroom.

Southville Library holds Fusion Conference Series 2015



The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Library hosted the Philippines-ASEAN Library Tourism & Hospitality (Fusion Conference Series 2015) last October 22-23, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Mini Theater. The event, attended by librarians from other institutions, was intended to help libraries in the promotion and marketing of services as well as in expanding their network. Furthermore, it “aims to infuse industry concepts to library management to better and professionalize services of library personnel and other information specialists,” said Mr. Roderick Ramos, Southville’s Library Coordinator.

BSN Class of 2016 and the 5Cs



BSN Class of 2016 took on a novel challenge as sophomore students finishing their Summer term, when they actively organized a groundbreaking health promotion and wellness seminar entitled “Breaking Bad: The Lifestyle of Generation Y” held last Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the MPH, College Building. In attendance were the entire BSN Level I students, who were the target population for the health education activity. Intrams Propel Students to Fitness



Basic Education students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) got into the spirit of friendly competition through the intramurals held on September 21, 2012 for Grade School and September 24 – 25, 2012 for High School. The events were basketball, volleyball, soccer, dodge ball, badminton, and obstacle relay which allowed the students to exhibit their athletic skills and their sportsmanship to spectators. High School Students Relive Noli Me Tangere



The High School III Regular Filipino students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) watched Gantimpala Theater’s staging of “Kanser: Noli Me Tangere” at Cinema 3 of SM Southmall last September 14, 2012. The students developed a better understanding and appreciation of the novel after watching the play’s creative staging, powerful visuals, clear storytelling and moving music.

In an epic moment last June 24, Miss World 2011 First Princess and Southville Foreign University (SFU) alumna Gwendoline Ruais crowned Miss Philippines World 2012 Queenierich Rehman, also an alumna of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC).
