BSN Class of 2016 and the 5Cs

BSN Class of 2016 took on a novel challenge as sophomore students finishing their Summer term, when they actively organized a groundbreaking health promotion and wellness seminar entitled “Breaking Bad: The Lifestyle of Generation Y” held last Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the MPH, College Building. In attendance were the entire BSN Level I students, who were the target population for the health education activity. Also present were Dean Carmel Villegas and members of the faculty Ms Grace Fe Tomas, Ms. Ma. Isabelle Pascual.
The event was a sweet achievement for these aspiring nurses who collaborated and worked hard to organize the seminar. “It was the 5Cs in action” declared by Dean Carmel as she saw how the three featured speakers, Gianna Limosnero, Jetca Narte, and Khyra Tolosa, students from BSN II, stepped up in delivering their topics competently and spontaneously . Gianna shared the pros and cons of social media and how this affects the current generation, Jetca explained the staggering harmful effects of alcohol and drug abuse to the body and society. Finally, Khyra talked about sexual promiscuity and the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases.
The organizing class exhibited character, collaboration and creativity in working with their assigned committees toward the success of the entire event, which made visible SISC’s nursing students’ genuine commitment to achieve.
