Ice skater joins Asian juniors tournament



Elaine Hannah Solomon of Grade 7 – Gratitude represented the country in the 2014 Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge held at the Festival Walk Glacier in Hong Kong. Math topnotchers receive awards



Yoo Ho Yeong of Gr. 2 – Archimedes, Jan Ignazio Yu of Gr. 2 – Franklin, and Jeremie Keon Torralba of Gr. 4 – Humility were recognized by the Asian Psychological Services and Assessment, Inc. for topping the Standards-Based Assessment (SBA) Math exams held in various private schools nationwide last Academic Year 2013-2014. Knowing where to go to this year is an easy choice. We decided to visit a global city which is a capital of arts, commerce, education, fashion, and politics. SISC alumna ranks 4th in nursing board



Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) High School Class 2010 alumna Katrina Geronimo placed 4th in the June 2014 Nurse Licensure Examination from 30,000 examinees all over the Philippines.
A consistent gold and values excellence awardee in SISC, Katrina entered high school at a young age and struggled trying to figure out what she wanted to take in college.
“I chose the medical field because in terms of personality and abilities, I felt that was the best choice. I don’t have regrets choosing my field but I’m not closing any door. Life is a never ending, winding road,” said Katrina.

Southville hosts Meibukan Gojyu Ryu Karate Seminar



Advanced Level members of the Southville Karate Club attended the 2013 Meibukan Gojyu Ryu Karate Seminar held recently.

Master Meitatsu Yagi, 10th Dan Blackbelt, Cchairman of the International Meibukan Gojyu Ryu Karatedo Association (IMGKA) shared his expertise to the members of the Karate Club. Students were taught Sanchin Kata, Kakie Te, Kote Kitae, Kihon Ido, Geki Sai Ichi, Geki Sai Ni, Saifa, and Shisochin. Further,  Master Yagi led the Meibukan Kata series, Advanced Goju Ryu Kata, and Meibuko Kobudo techniques.

Southville Ice skater excels in Asian tilt



Minery Inomata of Gr. 9 – Generosity won three awards in the 2012 Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge held last October 3-5, 2012 at the Festival Walk Glacier in Hong Kong. She finished in first place in the Short Program Category, and in second place in the Basic Novice Subgroup B (girls) and Long Program Category. Inomata competed against fellow skaters from other Asian countries in the event organized by the Hong Kong Skating Union. [Read more]

Southville Student Rules National Summer Skate



Mia Madelleine Torres, an incoming Grade 2 Southville student won first place and brought 2 gold medals in the 2013 Summer Skate, a competition endorsed by ICE SKATING INSTITUTE (ISI) OF ASIA. She placed first in both Pre-Alpha Technical Event and Dramatic Spotlight Event.

Mia, who started ice skating just recently, is also into ballet and voice lesson.

Southville Prom Royalties Awarded



It was glitz and glamour rolled into one as the junior and senior high school students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) danced the night away during their JS Prom last February 17 at Fernbrook Gardens.

 

The symbolic passing of the key of responsibility by the Seniors to the Juniors marked the former’s numbered days in SISC, and the latter carrying on the legacy of excellence and commitment exemplified by the Seniors.

SISC inks MOA with Paperless Trail Inc.



Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) and Paperless Trail Inc. (PTI) inked a memorandum of agreement last January 11, 2012. The partnership aims to provide SISC’s BS Information Technology students a venue for practicum where they can be exposed to emerging web-based technologies such as digital mapping, Geographical Information System (GIS) applications, and document imaging, for which PTI is the country’s leading solutions provider.
