Monarch’s Streetdance Competition



Supreme Student Council & Council of Leaders organized the first dance competition in SISC history titled “Monarchs Streetdance Showdown”, showcasing the students’ talent for dancing, particularly in hiphop.

Seven groups from Southville International School and Colleges, SEED Academy and South-Seed LPDH College were pitted against each other. Third place went to the group Campus Dance Crew led by David Asprer. Second place went to an all-Psychology group Psychalysts led by Carisma Anne Flores. Drizzler from SEED Academy led by Joebert Pagdato won 1st place. [Read more]

Southville Stat team among topnotchers



The SISC team of Erika Canonizado, Cylde Huang, Chae Young Jeong, and Min Jeong Kim finished in the Top 5 of the Statistical Challenge XV
hosted by UP Variates, a socioacademic student organization in the University of the Philippines Diliman School of Statistics.

The annual inter-secondary school quiz show is one of the country’s most prestigious statistical contests featuring 41 schools from 10 provinces with the primary goal of letting students appreciate the uses of Statistics. [Read more]

JPCS Conducts IT Career Lecture



The Junior Philippine Computer Society – Southville International School and Colleges chapter (JPCS – SISC) closed the academic year with their 4th lecture series entitled: “Define your Dream” and “Are You Ready for an IT Career?” with special guest speakers Ms. Vivienne Mangalindan and Ms. Eloisa Tinio, respectively.

 

With the continuing success of JPCS-SISC on conducting seminars, the BS IT students gained insights on career path and practical tips on what IT industries are looking from the management’s perspective.

Southville Media Arts Students Nab Twin Wins



AB Multimedia Arts students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) nabbed top prizes at the 26th Visual Arts Competition Photo Contest held at SM Southmall’s Event Center last February 10, 2012.

 

Besting several students from different schools in the South, Roel Mathew Baban (AB-MMA 3) and Encar Sarah Lopez (AB-MMA 2) won 1st and 4th places respectively with their photos following the theme “Only in the Philippines.” Baban’s winning entry is a sliced green mango while Lopez’s is a calamares (fried squid). Southville Students Shine in UN Simulation



Six high school students from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) joined more than 200 delegates from 66 schools around the world at Georgetown University – School of Foreign Service’s 7th Model United Nations (MUN) conference held last February 1 – 4, 2012 at Doha, Qatar.

 

The meet seeks to provide an unparalleled educational experience for talented secondary school students as they learn about the United Nations, international institutions, and the democratic political process through an exciting role-playing experience.

Southville Students to Experience Europe in Global Village Program



Now on its fourteenth year, the Global Village Program of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) provides students with a unique, personal, and intercultural learning experience. Participants get to visit Asia, North America, or Europe and broaden their understanding of other cultures.

This year, the foreign tour will explore Paris, Rome, Venice, Salzburg, and Munich. The program is open to grade school, high school, and college students. Parents, relatives, and friends of SISC students are also welcome to join.

Southville Preschool Runs for Sendong Victims



The Early Childhood Education Division (Preschool – Grade 2) of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) will hold its annual Sportsfest and Family Day at Monarchs Gym of Luxembourg Campus on February 4, 2012.

The event will start with a Fun Run / Walk for a Cause dubbed as “Run for Love: A Benefit Run for Sendong Victims” open to all SISC parents, students, and friends. Proceeds will go to the typhoon victims in Mindanao.

Juniors Undergo Career Exploration



The High School III class of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) had a Career Exploration Symposium recently featuring successful people in the fields of information technology, health service, hotel and restaurant management, media arts, education, business, and psychology. The professionals expounded on the practices, challenges, and rewards of each discipline. The participants were also presented with college options available to them including those from the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) schools.

Grade School Math Buffs Triumph



The Grade School Math Team comprised of Adrian Mendoza, Chan Hee Lee and Jae Hyo Jang took second place in the Inter-Elementary Math Contest held at the University of the Philippines – Los Baños last January 16, 2012. The team was awarded a gold medal, trophy, certificate, and cash for besting thirty-eight other teams. [Read more]

Psychology and CAPS Departments Tie Up for Outreach Program



The Psychology Department and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) took heed of its social responsibility by recently conducting a series of seminars to the parents of CAA day care students.

The six sessions focused on holistic development of parents through values formation, parenting communication, spiritual parenting and interpersonal relationship with the aim to make the participants more aware of their responsibilities in honing the lives of their children to become better people, and for their families to have a life of service.
