Psychology Students Experience PACUCOA Accreditation

The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) visited Southville International School and Colleges for the accreditation of BS Psychology and other 4 programs. Part of the accreditation is the plenary with the students in which accreditors asked questions to the representatives of each degree. Most of the questions thrown by the accreditors were about the relevance of their respective courses in developing competent professionals in the future. Dr. Evangeline Cabe, accreditor for the degree of BS Psychology, asked the Psychology students what they can perform using the knowledge taught to them in various subjects. Psychology students answered all the questions to the best of their knowledge and ability based on the learning they acquired. Accreditors of different degree programs were amazed with how the students enumerated the skills by acquired. Dr. Cabe commented that she is very much confident and happy that Psychology students of SISC are equipped with all the learning inculcated in them. The students even cited some changes in the field such as the introduction of the use of DSM V and the up and coming board examination for Psychology graduates. Dr. Cabe is happy that SISC is at par with the trends of Psychology. Likewise, the accreditor of the library and other services probed the students on the availability and use of academic materials such as journal articles and Psychology books in the College Library. The accreditors were impressed that the Psychology students were able to enumerate a number of Psychology journals being utilized in the fields of research and article critique writing. To sum up, the plenary with the students was a success.
