The much awaited annual celebration of Psychology Day in Southville International School and Colleges was held last January 28, 2016. The program started with the opening ceremony featuring picture taking per year level, and the oath taking of the newly appointed Psychology Society officers.

The top 5 Psychology students who received certificates of recognition for the 1st semester of Academic Year 2015-2016 were Josefina Garcia from 2nd year, Angela Canales, Clark Chua, and Monika Mayugba from 3rd year, and Regine Flores from the graduating batch. All in all, there were 30 awardees from 1st year to 4th year.

The most exciting part of the event was the second season of Psych Got Talent. Contestants from 1st year, Gwyneth Tint and Kristine Burgos, showcased their stunning voices, Voss Pangaronon from 2nd year performed with his guitar, Joebert Pagdato from 3rd year did heart-pumping dance moves while Christian Soverano and Kevin Espedido from 4th year rendered song numbers. Awarded as winners were Joebert Pagdato in 1st place, Gwyneth Tint in 2nd place, and Christian Soverano in 3rd place.

Games started with the Amazing Race Participants included professors. It was followed by the basketball boys and volleyball (mixed) games. Psychology Day ended with a viewing of the film “The Experiment,” a psychological-thriller based on the famous Stanford Prison Experiment.

Psychology Day was well organized, beginning with its registration, gathering of students, venue arrangement, and program schedule. Plans and preparations for the occasion were carefully laid out by the Psychology Society officers since the opening of the first semester of the current academic year. The objective of the activity was achieved: to create stronger camaraderie, establish sportsmanship, and unity in spirit among old and new psychology students, and heighten the students’ 5Cs: Collaboration, Commitment to Achieve, Creativity, Character and Competence.
