Southville Youth in Duke of Edinburgh International Award

Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) will be participating in the highly prestigious Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) International Award. This award is the world’s leading achievement award for young people bringing together practical experiences and life skills to create committed global citizens and to equip young people for life.

The Award is comprised of three levels which are Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Participants of each award go through the mandatory sections of service, physical recreation, skills, and an adventurous journey where young people go on a spiritual adventure and gain a deeper understanding of the environment and the great outdoors. For those vying for Gold, the last section would be a residential project where participants broaden their experience by staying in an unfamiliar environment with other young people, participating in new projects and building new relationships with others.

It is a non-competitive, voluntary, and balanced program open to all young people aged 14-24. The award enables students to demonstrate self-development within an internationally recognized framework.
