College Division Forms Pool of Outstanding Students



In response to the nationwide search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP), Southville International School and Colleges initiated its own search for the Ten Outstanding Students of Southville (TOSS) to create a pool of student leaders from the different degree programs.

Southville Inspires Budding Poets

In Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), students are taught as early as preschool on how to express their emotions and feelings in a positive way – through poetry. Each poem is regarded as unique as the student who wrote it.

Southville Hosts Career Counseling for Seniors



The Grade 11 classes of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) recently attended a Career Exploration Symposium featuring successful people in the fields of business, technology, education, and health care who expounded on the practices, challenges, and rewards of each discipline. Career exploration activities were conducted to help the students identify their strengths and interests before deciding on a college course.

Southville Golfers Top World Tilt



Bringing pride and glory not just for their alma mater but also for the country are junior golfers Abegail Arevalo and Chanelle Avaricio, Grades 9 and 10 students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC).

Arevalo and Avaricio claimed the top spots in the 13-year old and 15-year old divisions respectively of the 2012 Veritas World Junior Golf Championships held at the Pacific Palms, Los Angeles, California. Southville Students’ Business Plan Stands Out



Henzor Dauigoy and Bo Ra Sin, Grade 10 students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), placed twelfth in the International Trade Challenge Business Plan Competition hosted by FedEx Express and the Junior Achievement of the Philippines, Inc. One hundred thirty entries vied in the competition of entrepreneurial vision and business planning skills.

The FedEx-JA ITC aims to educate and inspire young people in the Asia Pacific region to understand how entrepreneurship can improve the quality of their lives and communities. [Read more]

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme held its 7th Commencement Exercise last June 3, 2013 with Mr. Simon Bewlay, M.B.E., Chairman of British School Manila, as the guest speaker.

BS TOURISM STUDENTS GO HANDS-ON TRAINING ON INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL



Southville International School and Colleges students joined a Hongkong Study Tour recently. The study tour was specifically designed to provide the students the knowledge, skills, competencies, values and attitudes needed in the conduct of an international travel.

Thirty-one third and fourth year Tourism students accompanied by two faculty escorts were required to be at the departure area of the Centennial Airport promptly to highlight punctuality as a basic requirement in travel.

They were guided to check in themselves and experience what they learned in the classroom as regards travel requirements, documents needed, amenities and courtesies extended in the port.

SISC: The Benchmark in E-Learning and Non-Traditional Approaches in Teaching



Every year, groups of administrators and faculty from various schools and universities visit to benchmark with Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), particularly in its curriculum and instructional methodologies. More and more educational institutions have expressed interest in observing and learning how SISC facilitates the delivery of real international education.

Southville Alumnus Makes it to Tribeca Film Fest



A short film by Miguel Calayan, graduate of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) high school batch 2008, was chosen as one of entries to be shown in the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Out of 2,800 submissions from all over the world, Calayan’s Prima will be premiered along with 60 other entries which made it to the cut. He wrote, directed and did the cinematography for the said film.
