The Philippine Board of Studies handpicked top students nationwide to compete in Malaysia early this year for the International Science Competition. One of the few students who made it was Southville’s consistent academic varsity and veteran contender, Robert Jeremiah Rivera. Rivera participated in two categories which were the Junior Team Competition where he earned BRONZE together with his “Vietnamese” teammates and the Junior Individual Competition where he attained SILVER and was only two-point lead close to the gold. ICAS Recognizes Southville Excellence
Students from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) were recognized at the annual International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) held November of this year. Gwyneth Margaux Tangog (Grade 9), Ervin Joshua Bautista(Grade 6), and Jeremiah Rivera (Grade 7) respectively received High Distinction Certificates for Science, English, and Mathematics. King’s College London welcomes Southville’s Alumna, Isabelle Young
Southville’s homegrown alumna is headed to one of the world’s top-ranking universities, King’s College London in January 2019.
In 2016, Isabelle Young graduated at the top of her International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) class. Having taken IB Biology at Higher Level fostered her interest in the natural science, which only deepened at the university.

Southville Volleybelles Secure Back-to-Back Titles
The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) girl spikers retained the International Schools Activities Conference (ISAC) volleyball crown as they swept rival Cebu International School in two sets last October 17 at Brent International School – Subic. The boys volleyball team, on the other hand, placed third runner-up among six participating teams that also included Brent International School Manila, Brent International School Subic, Brent International School Baguio, British School Manila, Faith International Academy and Cebu International School.

The annual search for Top Outstanding Performing Students (T.O.P.S.) will happen on November 17, 2018 open to graduating public and private high school students all over the country. SOUTHVILLE MONARCHS AT THE NEW YORK TIMES WRITING COMPETITION
Three high school students from SISC were named finalists in the secondary school category of the 2018 New York Times Asia-Pacific Writing Competition. The essays of Miguel Dominico Alzona, Akisha Julianne Cu and Vincent Romero were among the 30 finalists chosen out of thousands of entries submitted to the regional essay competition.
Responding to the question “Can people still achieve a better life through migration?”, Alzona wrote a 500-word opinion piece entitled “Africa’s Curtain Call,” Cu penned “The Elusive Dream of Migrants” and Romero composed “Immigration, The New Colossus.”

Southville Monarchs Win at International Math-Science Competition
Southville Students brought home medals from the 15th International Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Primary School Students (IMSO) held last Sept. 28 to Oct. 4 in Zhejiang, China. Ervin Joshua Bautista of Gr. 6 – Perseverance won the Philippines’ lone gold medal in Science while Kristner Sheyn Saludo of Gr. 5 – Loyalty scored a silver medal also in Science.
