Students are only as good as their teachers. Which is why the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) is committed to providing students with teachers and officers that continue to seek growth and learning throughout their career. With this in mind, SGEN had sponsored the philosophical degree education of its top officers. Enabling them to further construct Southville’s academic environment and VOLT program centered around the growth mindset.
Southville would like to congratulate the following upon completion of their Ph.D. in Management which they gained from the Lyceum of the Philippines University, Batangas in 2020:
- Dr. Jocelyn P. Tizon
- Dr. Marie Vic F. Suarez
- Dr. Nancy L. de Guia
- Dr. Caroline Mediodia
- Dr. Rolly S. Donato
- Dr. Jerry A. Aguilar
- Dr. Carol R. Lacerna
- Dr. Renierio E. Aligonero
- Dr. Syra V. Logatoc
Apart from their studies in LPU Batangas, the aforementioned officers also accomplished various training and seminars from other distinguished universities amidst the pandemic. Including Skills and Strategy To Deepen Digital and Media Literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
“I am grateful for the support that the SGEN management provided in my dissertation,” said Southville President Dr. Jocelyn P. Tizon, affectionately called Dr. Jo, in an interview. “I have been blessed with colleagues and people I work with who support and give me an extra boost of confidence whenever loads get too much to bear.” She added that Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Tan was also one of her sources of inspiration during her learning journey.
When asked for pieces of advice to give to people who aspire to pursue higher education, Dr. Jo’s message is, “Keep learning. There is no substitute for seeking knowledge every day. It makes you a better person, a better worker. The discipline of writing my dissertation and my other academic reports have expanded my understanding and perspectives in many areas of leadership and school management.”
